Hey, I’m Joe Duff, and I proudly wear many hats: restaurateur, family guy, food blogger of multiple blogs – The Diet Chef & I’m Hungry For That – and ever-curious traveler.
Buffalo, NY is my stomping ground, where I’ve put down roots and where “Duff’s Famous Wings“, my restaurant, stands. Duff’s is a place that is as much about community as it is about delicious food.

We specialize in hot wings and we’re actually one of the oldest – if not the oldest – family-owned and operated chicken wing restaurants there is. If you ever get a chance to visit Buffalo, stop in and say, “hi”. I’d love to meet you.
Anyway, when the apron comes off, it’s time for family adventures, solo jaunts, or trips with my brother Scuba Jay. While Jay finds all of the best places for us to dive I’m usually in charge of finding the best activities for us to do. And that’s exactly why I lead up the “Things To Do” section of the blog!
Traveling The Country and The World

My travel tales span from the Valley of Fire in Nevada to the bustling streets of New York City, across vast deserts and over towering mountain ranges.
For me, every trip is an adventure. It’s a chance for me to tap into the human need that we all have for exploration and discovery. It’s also a chance for me to reconnect with my travel companions. Just this past October my brothers and I made a trip of a lifetime out West together. Since that trip, we’ve never been closer.
Beyond the borders of the United States, I’ve wandered the ancient ruins of Greece, felt the cool breeze of Finnish lakes, soaked up the sun in the Caribbean, caught a tan on the beaches of Cancun, and walked the historic – and infamous – paths of Germany. Each destination has not just been a place to visit, but a chapter of experience etched in my memory.
Diving Into New Adventures

In 2014, a new adventure beckoned when my brother Jay and I decided to take on scuba diving. Earning our NAUI certification was more than just a hobby; it became a new lens through which to view our travels.
There’s something humbling about the underwater silence, where the only sound is your own breathing and the ocean’s heartbeat. Scuba diving for both of us is a way to disconnect from the world and live in the moment. When you’re 50 or 100 feet deep the only thing that matters is the present moment and living in each breath. There’s simply nothing else like it and that’s why I couldn’t pass up the chance to work on this blog.
Sharing the Journey

My aim is to bring the world to you through stories and insights that spark your own wanderlust. Whether it’s the serene, turquoise waters of a secluded dive spot or the unexpected delights of a local eatery in a small American town, I believe there’s a story worth telling. If I can inspire you to embark on your own journey, then that’s a job well done.
An Invitation
So, if you’ve ever been bitten by the travel bug or if you’re just looking for a taste of different cultures from your own backyard, come along with me. Let’s explore the world together—one place, one meal, one dive at a time.
